Foreign country adoptions
Feb. 5th, 2019 02:04 pmI'm crying. I've just read in "Tygodnik Powszechny" an article about Polish orphans - unwanted by Polish prospective parents because of their age or health - whose foreign country adoptions were stopped by our mad, mad far-right government ("for the good of those children"). Some of them had met their ex-future parents; they were only just waiting for the final green light to have a real family life. And the government removed this possibility for all of them on the impossible possibility they could be adopted in our country. Bureaucrats ruining kids' lives just because they think it's just and patriotic.
There's nothing so harmful, so hateful, than an ideology - be it patriotic, religious or economic - tramping individuals' rights.
